SlowRing

Privacy

SlowRing is a trade name of Ford Family Vending LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This page says what happens to your data when you look at this site and when you buy a shirt.

This site now measures how it is used

It did not used to. This page said so, and said to check in the developer tools. That changed, so this section changed with it. The measuring is done by HeyCatch, and here is all of it.

Open the developer tools and check that too.

What is still not here

Your cart

The cart is stored in your own browser, in localStorage, under the key slowring.cart.v1. The public-shop measurements described above still apply while you browse, but the cart contents are not sent to SlowRing until you check a discount code or start checkout. Then the item ids and quantities go to slowring.com, which works out the price and hands the order to Stripe.

Where your data goes when you order

The services directly involved are:

Hosting and the order record

Cloudflare sits in front of every request, so like any host it sees the IP address and browser of each visit. Cloudflare itself builds no profile from that for us.

When an order is placed, a record is written to Cloudflare's key-value storage: the Stripe session id, your email address, the items, the total, and whether the confirmation email went out. If something fails, a second record is written with the reason so it can be fixed by hand — a confirmation that never arrived, a shirt that never reached the printer. The order line written to Cloudflare's logs contains the same email address.

Nothing expires these records. They stay until they are deleted by hand.

The ad on Meta

SlowRing runs an ad on Meta. There is no Meta pixel on this site, so Meta receives nothing from the site — not your visit, not your cart, not your purchase.

What is not done with it

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared for advertising. The data above is used to take your money, print your shirt, post it to you, and send you a confirmation.

Questions about your data

Email [email protected] and say which order. A person reads it.
